Welcome!

Welcome to the website of Westchester County (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Chartered on June 10, 1950, Westchester County (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has an extensive legacy of impactful service in the community.

The Links, Incorporated is a premiere service and philanthropic women’s organization, established in 1946, whose members are committed to community service in 41 states, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom.

Our Chapter is proud to comprise dynamic women who serve as business, education, legal, healthcare, and non-profit leaders, and are dedicated to positive community transformation. For 75 years, through 5 areas of focus (Service to Youth, Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services), and Scholarship Program, the Chapter’s programming has addressed educational disparities, economic hardships, and social inequalities in communities. Our Chapter awards scholarships to deserving students in recognition of academic promise.

The Chapter has a legacy as a high performance chapter, duly recognized as:

the 2022 National First Place Recipient in Programming for our Umbrella Program: Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds: Surviving the Journey to a Post Pandemic World;

the 2018 National First Place Recipient of the National Trends and Services Integrated Award for AARP, Are You Ready;

The 2016-18 National First Place Recipient of the Services To Youth Integrated Award for Young Achievers Program;

The 2018 National Second Place Recipient of the International Trends and Services Integrated Award for LIFE Program;

The 2018 First Place Category 3 National Poster Art Contest Winner for Weight of the World, by Maya Cole, addressing the theme: Our Vision, Our Future: Happy and Healthy Communities;

The 2010 National Best Practice Award for International Trends and Services collaborative program on international travel etiquette with CUNY and Mercy College.

It is my distinct honor to serve as President following the Chapter’s milestone 75th anniversary celebrations in May and June, 2025, including a Gala with the theme “Honoring Yesterday & Shaping Tomorrow”, and greetings from our National President Ethel Isaacs Williams and Eastern Area Director Lisa Loury Lomas. We are fortunate they, as well as National Vice President Shuana Tucker Sims, Eastern Area Vice Director Barbara Burton, National Chair of Rituals Evelyn Davis, and our own member Sheila Hankin’s daughter, Dawn Hankin, recently elected Eastern Area Treasurer, celebrated our Chapter’s Diamond Anniversary with us.

On June 9, 2025, our Chapter closed its anniversary celebrations with the lighting of the New York State Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge connecting Westchester and Rockland Counties across the Hudson River, illuminated in green and white in honor of the Chapter’s Diamond Anniversary. Chapter Members gathered at Riverwalk Cafe in Tarrytown, with the lighted three-mile, twin-span bridge as the backdrop, to celebrate a legacy of impactful service to the community.

We uplift and inspire each other and work together in friendship while implementing educational, civic, and cultural programs in the Westchester County community with our corporate, educational, and philanthropic partners.

Sincerely,

Lisa Stenson Desamours, Esq.
