ABOUT THE LINKS, INCORPORATED
The Links, Incorporated, founded in 1946 is an international, not-for-profit organization with a mission to enrich and sustain the cultural and economic vitality of African American communities. The membership consists of over 17,000 professional women of African American descent in 299 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations. Links members contribute more than 1 million documented community service hours annually to strengthen their communities and enhance the nation.
The Westchester County (NY) Chapter, chartered in 1950, has proudly served the Westchester community for 75 years, focusing on Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services.
LEGACY & IMPACT
Our chapter members dedicate over 2,000 hours annually to transformative programs that make a lasting impact. Key initiatives include:

Annual Book Fair: Promoting literacy for over 30 years by providing books to Westchester children.

Annual Young Achievers Program: Mentoring high school African American males for college readiness and STEAM careers.

Annual Black Family Wellness Expo: Offering vital education to the community regarding physical, mental and financial health.

Senior Support Programs: Raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease as it impacts people of color, encouraging participation in genetic testing and memory screening; hosting caregiver workshops, and engaging seniors in clay arts therapy.

Dental Screenings: Partnering with Colgate-Palmolive to serve underserved children.

Scholarships: Awarding over $50,000 in college scholarships to high school seniors of color.

Global Outreach: Conducting educational outreach in Jamaica and delivering dental kits to children in Haiti to promote health and disease prevention.

Young Aspiring Literary Scholars (YALS): Promotes youth literacy and writing skills and guides students interested in writing and journalism as career paths.
